At 513 metres, Cerro Catedral is the highest point in Uruguay. It stands in the Sierra de Carapé, north of Garzón, and you climb it on foot along a country lane near Routes 109 and 39.

From the summit you see the whole range; it is a half-day excursion that combines well with the back roads of the Sierras de Garzón. There are no services or operators on site, so bring water and closed shoes. It marks the northern edge of the portal's area.
