Once the January frenzy passes, José Ignacio shifts down a gear and its best-loved series arrives: Música en el Faro, chamber and classical music concerts that a group of neighbours has organised every February for more than two decades. Admission is free and the venues are as much protagonists as the musicians: the lighthouse surroundings and village spaces like the Club de Mar.

The repertoire ranges from the classics to contemporary music, with top-level performers from the Río de la Plata and, at times, world premieres. It's a plan for closing the day with the murmur of the sea in the background, no gala dress code or expensive tickets: the essence of the locals' José Ignacio, not the one in the magazines.
