This policy explains which personal data Portal Garzón collects, what it is used for, who it is shared with and how you can exercise your rights, under Uruguay's personal data protection Law 18.331 and its regulations.
Data controller
Portal Garzón, Uruguay. Contact: hola@portalgarzon.com, WhatsApp +598 91 448 775.
What we collect
When you enquire about a plot for sale or a business in the directory, we collect the data you give us: name, WhatsApp or phone number, email if you provide it, your message and the plot or page you ask about. If you write on WhatsApp, also your number and the chat content. Providing them is voluntary; without them we cannot answer or arrange a visit.
The site also uses Google Analytics to measure visits in aggregate. We do not use browsing data to identify you.
What we use it for
To answer your enquiry and, if you agree, send it to whoever sells the plot so they can confirm price, terms and availability and arrange the visit. For plots sold by the portal itself, also to accompany you if you go ahead with the purchase. We also use aggregate data for internal statistics about how the section performs.
Who we share it with
With whoever sells the plot or business you ask about (the owner or the real estate operator who markets it), only so that they can reply and arrange the visit, only if you accepted that transfer, and never for plots marked as a market reference. Whoever receives your data may use it for that purpose only and must delete it if you ask.
With the technical providers the site uses: Netlify (hosting and form handling), Google (Analytics) and WhatsApp/Meta when the conversation is on WhatsApp. These providers are in the United States, so using those channels involves an international data transfer that you accept by using them. We do not sell or rent data to anyone, nor use it for third-party advertising.
How long we keep it
Up to two years after the last enquiry, or until you ask for deletion. If an enquiry leads to a transaction, the data linked to it is kept for as long as tax and anti-money-laundering rules require.
Your rights
You can request access to your data, have it corrected, updated or deleted, and withdraw your consent to sharing it, by writing to hola@portalgarzon.com. We reply within five working days and, if we had already passed the data to a seller, we notify them of the correction or deletion. You can also complain to Uruguay's data protection authority (URCDP).
Security and registration
Data is kept in systems with restricted access and shared only with those entitled to it. Should a security incident affect it, we would notify the URCDP and the people concerned within the legal deadlines. The enquiries database is registered with the URCDP's database registry.
Changes
If we change this policy, we publish the new version on this page with its update date.
