Medellín Polo Club sits on Ruta 10 beside Laguna José Ignacio, in Maldonado department. According to its own presentation, polo arrived here in 1984 with the Busquet family, on the old Medellín estancia bordering the lagoon, and the fields look out over the lagoon and the sea.

The club hosted the 73rd Abierto Uruguayo de Polo, the national open, from January 2 to 10, 2026, and has a polo school open to students, according to its listing.
