Laguna José Ignacio, 14 km² in size, lies west of the village and is an important bird area, with flamingos and black-necked swans.

Its wind conditions make it a kite and windsurf spot all year round; it also suits kayaking and picnics on the shore. You reach it from Route 10, around km 176, or on foot from Playa Brava. To learn or rent gear, the area's schools are Kitesurf in Laguna Garzón and the Laura Kite and Windsurf School.
