Patricia Torres, a Uruguayan interior designer, and Paula Martini, an Argentine textile designer, have put together in La Juanita a kind of design flea market: decorative objects, textiles by weavers from Uruguay's interior, pieces recovered together with local artisans, Martini's clothing line made in the area, and finds brought from Scotland, Mexico or Vietnam. Everything is chosen with the eye of two of the region's most sought-after decorators, the same ones who dress several of the loveliest houses in the east.
The shop is on Camino Saiz Martínez at the corner of Los Lobos and is part of the same grounds where the restaurant Tres operates, which we have already told you about: the store on one side, the dining side on the other. And here is the key detail: while the restaurant works seasonally, the shop stays open in winter, every day from 11 am to 8 pm, making it one of La Juanita's reliable stops outside summer.
