It started as a two-by-two-metre kiosk and is now one of the most sought-after beach spots on Playa Brava: in high season El Chiringo welcomes up to 500 people a day. The formula is simple and hard to copy: barefoot luxury in wood, canvas and sand, with a kitchen built on local produce that runs from fresh seafood to Mediterranean-inspired dishes, wood-fired empanadas included.

More than a restaurant, it is a meeting point: there is live music, yoga classes and events that start at midday and stretch into the sunset. It opens daily from 10 am to 8 pm during the season, which runs from December to Easter, and booking ahead is wise in the peak weeks of January.
