El Caracol is the low-density seaside settlement that begins right after the bridge, on Route 10 at km 193, between native forest, the lagoon and the sea, inside the protected area.

It has plots for sale, through Laguna Garzón Inmobiliaria, and a small community of residents and places to stay. La Playita, on the lagoon, is its meeting point and the base of Discover Laguna Garzón; its beaches are open to the public.
