José Ignacio has three beaches, each with its own character. Brava, east of the lighthouse, is the one for waves and surf, with the break known as Pepe and the Hopupu school on the sand. Mansa, to the west, has calm water, beach bars and the area's busiest sunset.

La Juanita, towards the lagoon mouth, offers even, sand-bottom waves for all levels. All three have municipal lifeguards in season; if you are with children, see the guide to safe beaches with kids.
